ACT is funded through the NYS Department of Health’s CAPP2 Project. We provide the 6 – 8 hour long evidence-based, comprehensive curriculum, “Making Proud Choices”, to groups of youth in Orleans & Genesee Counties. By partnering with School Districts and community organizations, we educate youth (11 to 21 years old) on responsible sexual health, free of charge.
Through the curriculum implementation, ACT strives to empower youth with knowledge to:
- Effectively Communicate With Your Partner
- Make Responsible Decisions
- Delay Initial Sexual Encounter
- Lower Their Risk of Teen Pregnancies
- Reduce The Risk Of Sexually Transmitted Diseases / Infections
Contact us to discuss curriculum details and how we may meet your needs.
Through additional funding received, ACT is piloting the implementation of weekly, after-school Clubs in three (soon four) school districts. the foal is to provide alternative activities and basic life skills education needed by youth to transition into healthy young adults, within the community they live. A specific health topic will be focused upon by each Club, with educational presentations being developed and made, to the their student peers and community.
ACT can provide presentations in the community on local statistics, risky behaviors, consent, relationships, internet safety, communication and access to local sexual health care services.
