Job Description:

Major Responsibilities of Position:
Drive agency vehicles to transport customers as needed. Schedule may include anytime Monday through Saturday (including Holidays). Duties include transportation of wheelchair clients. Fill in where needed in agency, including Head Start or Early Head Start runs. Keep vehicle clean. Pre/post vehicle inspections, report any potential maintenance needs.

A clean CDL class A, B or C license with passenger endorsement, must be qualified to drive school bus, and minimum of 2 years of bus driving experience.

At Head Start sites in Albion, Batavia, Kendall and Medina:
Volunteers are needed for various child care opportunities, including helping at mealtimes, reading books, chaperoning field trips and outdoor experiences. Head Start is looking for interns in social work, nursing or education. The Program also works with groups for projects and maintenance. Such groups include: Community Service, Job Development, Boy and Girl Scouts, etc.
In Orleans County:
Salvation Army kettle coordinator: Would be responsible for coordinating schedules for bell ringers within Orleans County and Genesee County outside the City of Batavia
Eastern Orleans Community Center in Holley looking for volunteers for after school programs, assistance in Soup Kitchen, Senior Citizen activities
Volunteers needed in our Teaching kitchen to teach various cooking skills.
Volunteers are always needed for Holiday Baskets preparation & delivering fruit baskets to shut-in senior citizens.
Volunteers for our annual Children’s Carnival held in July to assist in running games for children.
Volunteers for annual Community Action Angel Golf Tournament to assist in fundraising activities as well as assistance day of tournament.

Community Action Angels of Genesee County is looking for Angels! Do you have any free time to donate? We are looking for individuals to help plan and staff events or fundraisers, donate your talents or share your ideas. We also need help in the clothing pantry, sorting donations and in the office. Main Street Store Volunteers Wanted (to help out at the Main Street Store in Albion):
The Main Street Store is a dedicated Job Skills Training Facility where participants and volunteers learn about all aspects of an operational business – receiving instruction in Business Courses, General Office, Retail, Customer Service, and Housekeeping/Building Maintenance. If you have experience in any of these areas and would like to share your knowledge, please give us a call for more information on becoming a volunteer mentor or instructor.
The Store also partners with the Albion School District, providing a supportive learning center where high school students receive one on one opportunity to bring grades up and earn credits leading to graduation.
